Global contacts

In our assignment this week, we are asked to identify individuals that are in the early childhood field and are located outside of the United States. I decided to contact someone in Germany, Ireland, and Canada. I chose Germany because I have been working closely with a parent volunteer that is from Germany and I am curious to learn more about their early childhood field. I also contacted one from Ireland due to the fact that my heritage is Irish and I was interested in their culture. I chose to contact someone from Canada because I have heard that Canadian schools have advancement on the states. This is also why I chose to study a Canadian website that is equivalent to our NAEYC. I am curious to see what their philosophies and views of early childhood are.

  1. Tisha, It is great that you have decided on contacting early childhood professionals from three different countries. Having a connection with a parent volunteer is a great personal connection to Germany. When talking about personal heritages, my family originated in Germany, so I am looking forward to your future posts!

  2. I am really looking forward to reading your post from your Canadian contact. I had no idea that they had advancement on us. I can't wait to see what some of their thoughts will be on some of our upcoming topics.

  3. Hi Tisha,
I chose to review Canada also, for me is because I have friends there and I would visit regularly when I lived in Michigan. Also I love Canada, so I am interested to learn more about their child care system. I never knew that they're considered to have an advancement on the states in education.
